Florida Trip
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009My dad and I drove down to my grandparent’s place in Florida. Along the way we decided to make a stop in Savannah, Georgia. The large buildings were once warehouses for the cotton industry in the 1800′s.

Trip To Centralia, PA

My brother and his friends, Rhys and Sam, wanted to go to Centralia, Pennsylvania. Centralia was a mining town it the 40′s and 50′s until the mine caught fire. Today the fire is still burning underground and the town is abandoned. This was the basis of the video games and the movie “Silen Hill”. On our way there we stopped at the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
On the way back we stopped in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and I photographed the New York Fire Zouaves monument there. They were a regiment of New York City firefighters who fought in that famous battle.

This street is abandoned because the fire is burning so close to the surface that the street is collapsing. Even though it was around 10 degrees outside, the street was hot to the touch.
